Biography |
Dr. Kanak Kanti Bera is an Associate Professor of English at Panskura Banamali College (autonomous), Purba Medinipur, WB, India. He has been teaching English literature, language and linguistics for over two decades at the UG and PG levels. He is currently associated with the department of Linguistics, University of Calcutta as a guest faculty member. After completing MA in English literature, the PGCTE at the EFL University-Hyderabad roused his genuine interest in Linguistics and Language teaching. Eventually did it become the prime area of research of Dr. Bera. He received his M.Phil. (Linguistics & Phonetics) from EFL University, and PGDCE from the University of Hyderabad, both with a distinction. His Ph.D. from IIT-Guwahati was an empirical investigation into the vowel acoustics and its phonological implications. |
Academic Interest |
The primary academic interests of Dr. Bera are teaching and research in Linguistics, especially acoustic phonetics. Besides, ELT, communication and different aspects of language-literature interface are a few other areas of research interest of Dr. Bera. His recent academic interests and activities include publications, editorial jobs for journals, organization of conferences, course and syllabus designing, conducting professional and orientation courses in linguistics and communication. |
